Some Good Marketing Ideas for Small Business Ventures

By Mike Jerome

The 21st century and the global recession have definitely put the pussy among the pigeons where small business is concerned , but there are many straightforward no-cost and low cost solutions for small businesses to maintain and even increase share of the market. As small shops find they cannot compete against giant conglomerates they necessarily fail, unless they can offer more to their clients. This is performed by smart promoting and offering value and a better experience to the client.

Therefore what's the solution to this troubling problem will our only choice be to buy like drones in these giant warehouses?

If you have a bricks and mortar consultant store like a camera shop or a tool store likelihood is that you are battling to generate revenue by cutting margins and outgoings radically. This country has to get back to offering worth in the form of fantastic post-sale and pre-sale consumer service, offer expertise and employ people who know what they are doing, not someone that has neither initiative, personality nor expertise.

Look at what the major chains do Not offer and you'll see that customer service is a thing of the past, their stores all look the same and if they haven't got what you want, you are sunk. Local businesses are what make a community and folks who've chosen to start their own businesses have a fondness for what they do and they love to help when was the last time that happened in your local Wallymart?

Google is doing everything to prompt small local businesses to get a website. If you have got a highly specialized business your internet site can right away become number one when anyone searches for Your Town and your consultant service. Just this easy low cost promoting solution can bring in loads of new shoppers. For a small fee you may be listed in local directories, your local Chamber of Commerce and on Angie's list, which should mount up to more visibility and less cost than any expensive mag or weekly paper ad, and do not forget mobile web access.

Starting and maintaining a domain is not difficult or pricey, nowadays an attractive Wordpress site can be built in less than two hours all it costs is monthly hosting and a web site name fee. On a local strip I recently asked eleven small business owners if they'd an internet site and only 1 expounded yes. If you need to start your own business the market is wide open to help these people out and make yourself a great living, I just wish That I had the time.

All a small local business needs is a Google map of where they are , a page explaining what they do, a section that gives opening hours and contact data, some great footage and maybe a history of the business and that's it! Add an opt in box and a once a month newsletter can go out, coupons can be sent and sales announced, and with the addition of some affiliate advertizing the site can basically make the business owner some money even after covering the minor costs involved.

Online businesses have a much more hard time getting themselves to the top of the search site lists. They have harder competition and have to handle back linking, article writing and S.E.O and many other promoting tactics they must employ to achieve success. A small local business blog built on WordPress can also function as a means for purchasers to ask about products and services as well , cutting back on in-going phone calls that usually come when attempting to cope with other shoppers. It's about attraction selling and getting business back to how they should be unique, helpful and knowledgeable businesses with fantastic customer service that supply an delightful shopping experience for all who walk thru the door.
